Mercedes-Benz Specialist in Polokwane
Independent Mercedes-Benz Specialists, Not a Dealership
Barat German Auto is an independent Mercedes-Benz specialist based at 23 Sixth Street, Industrial, Polokwane, 0700, Limpopo, South Africa. We are not a franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer and have no manufacturer affiliation. What we do have is the diagnostic capability, technical data and day-to-day experience to service and repair these vehicles to the standard they were built to.
Independent servicing does not void your factory warranty in South Africa when approved parts and correct procedures are used and the work is documented. For a vehicle still covered by a maintenance plan, or one needing a recall or factory-only programming, the dealer remains the right route and we will say so.
What We Do for Mercedes-Benz Owners
Servicing & ASSYST
Service A and Service B to schedule, using MB-Approval specification oils such as 229.5, 229.51 and 229.52, with the ASSYST maintenance counter reset correctly afterwards.
Diagnostics & Fault Finding
Full-network scanning across every control module, not engine codes alone, with live data, actuator testing and a written report.
Engine Repairs
Timing chains and tensioners, head gaskets, oil leaks, cooling systems, turbochargers and full overhauls, diagnosed with compression and leak-down testing first.
Transmission & Gearbox
722.6 and 722.9 servicing, conductor plate, valve body and 13-pin connector repairs, torque converter diagnosis and adaptation resets.
Brakes
Pads, discs, calipers and brake fluid, including wear sensor renewal and electronic parking brake retraction with the correct diagnostic tool.
Suspension
Multi-link arm, bush, ball joint and shock absorber work, identifying the specific worn component rather than quoting a whole axle.
AIRMATIC Air Suspension
Air springs, compressors, valve blocks, air lines and level sensor calibration, diagnosed by full-system pressure testing so the leak is fixed, not just the symptom.
Auto Electrical
SAM module faults, parasitic battery drain, loom repairs, starter and alternator work, and battery registration so a new battery charges correctly.
Preventative Maintenance
Pre-trip inspections, cooling system and brake fluid testing, filter changes shortened for dusty Limpopo conditions, and honest advice on what can wait.

Mercedes-Benz Servicing for Polokwane and Limpopo
Our workshop is in Industrial, Polokwane, close to the city centre and easy to reach from Bendor, Flora Park, Welgelegen, Annadale, Nirvana, Ivy Park, Ladanna, Seshego, Mankweng and Central Polokwane. Mercedes-Benz owners also travel to us from Tzaneen, Giyani, Thohoyandou, Makhado, Mokopane and Lebowakgomo, usually because specialist diagnostic capability for these vehicles is limited closer to home. We have one workshop only and no branches in those towns.
